It’s so good to be back in Uganda. The new route to Jinja is a breeze—just about three hours from Entebbe. There’s so much to take in along the way: the sights, the sounds, the smells.

 What great support Akersloot is giving these days. A small village with a big heart! With this support, Mama Jane can make dreams come true and even start with next plans.

We travelled to Uganda on October 12th to visit Mama Jane again. Our main goal was to show our continuing love and support.

A wonderful week in Jinja

Mariska and Esther were in Jinja for a week this October. It was a great week; talking with Agnes and Seith.

Mama Jane is doing good :)

Last may I visited Mama Jane. I spend a week in Jinja to see how the children, Agnes and the staff are doing. So great to be there and see so many positive developments again.

On March 9th, these heroes in Akersloot defied bad weather for Mama Jane! 50% of the proceeds to the orphanage!

In Zoetermeer primary school called 't Schrijverke organized an action for Mama Jane. Students at this school are Teun and Gijs. They visited Mama Jane in April.

Where do children play in Africa play with? And do they make toys themselves? Children from primary school Christopher were very curious to find out. In March 2015 we will leave to Uganda to talk with Agnes and the Board about the developments at the orphanage and future expectations. What has now been achieved, what challenges lie and what can we do that?!? In the 10 years that we are almost there, we saw many beautiful changes at Mama Jane.

Vulnerable children deserve a promising future

Mama Jane was founded in the 1980s. During this turbulent times hundreds of thousands of people died during the reign of Obote and Amin. Many children became orphans. They were taken in by Jane, to whom the orphanage is named.

Due to civil wars, HIV and poverty, Mama Jane's existence remains highly needed to take care of children.
