Akersloot helps Mama Jane realizing dreams!

Sponsorloop Akersloot2What great support Akersloot is giving these days. A small village with a big heart! With this support, Mama Jane can make dreams come true and even start with next plans. Super cool to be able to provide better and (financially) stable care to the children who need it.

These dreams come true:

  • The new batteries can be ordered. The solar energy and the batteries are so important because Mama Jane gets a much lower electricity bill. Perhaps even more important is that there is always electricity and light. In Uganda it is dark every day at 7 pm. With the power failures, which often occur, you are just left in the dark. How do you do homework, play a game or make your bed?
  • Mama Jane can look for a reliable 2nd hand car. A new car may sound like a luxury. But it is a sheer necessity for Mama Jane to have reliable transportation. More and more children are going to live in foster homes. An exciting challenge to make sure that a child will end up in the right place. This requires regular visits, often to families far in the 'countryside'. Mama Jane remains responsible for their well-being and helps the families financially.

400 Children raised a record amount by walking a sponsorrun in Akersloot
On April 6, almost all children from Kindcentrum De Brug and Rembrandtschool joined a walk along the Alkmaardermeer. We were very happy to hear that Mama Jane was chosen again as a charity. Aniek told children in all classes about Mama Jane. This made them super enthusiastic and they raised an incredible amount: € 5,700. Really amazing!

2derondeStichting 2e Ronde made a huge contribution We asked the 2e Ronde foundation in Akersloot for a contribution for Mama Jane's wishes. We are known as a charity there, and we have often received help from them. To our surprise, 2e Ronde wanted to contribute to both the batteries and the car! Great! We are so happy that they have such a warm heart for Mama Jane.

Parish of Akersloot and a sweet lady thought of Mama Jane
Unexpectedly, an amount came to our Foundation's account. Was this amount really intended for us? Yes! Another special gift came from a lady who asked for money for Mama Jane on her birthday.

Mama Jane continues growing thanks to these gifts
Instead of having to cut back on daily necessities, or thinking about selling a cow, Mama Jane already has enough money to pay for the batteries and a car. This message was received with disbelief by Seith from Mama Jane today.
Developments continue and the next project is now in the spotlight: the start-up of the vocational school. At that school, Mama Jane's children and children from the surrounding area (paid fees = income) receive lessons in carpenting, tailoring and so on.

We will keep you informed!
We will notify you on this website and our social media when there is news. With photos, maybe a video, and reactions from Mama Jane.
