A message from one of the grownup children of Mama JaneMama Jane Children's Care Centre has been home to many of us who have now grown up to be responsible citizens of Uganda and beyond. As grown up children, who were raised through the hands of Auntie Agnes and other staff, we always looked back at where we have come from. We were amazed at how Auntie Agnes was able to raise all of us giving us the basics of life without stopping or having a break or leave. She sacrificed her family just to raise us to who we are. Now that some of us have children, we appreciate the work of raising children. And appreciate the gifts, life skills, exposure and love from others. We know and appreciate her struggles to see that children have food, education, shelter,
So we planned and agreed to make a party just to celebrate her and say thank you to her. All the older children found it worthwhile. Not all of us attended because of Christmas programs with their own families and so the timing was not so conducive for many. But nonetheless, we were all together both physically and spiritually. This was to let Auntie Agnes know that we love her and we are grateful for raising us and for all the support she gave us. It was also to encourage her to keep doing the good work even when there is a lot of stress involved. This also was to set an example for the little children to appreciate our mother someday in their life especially when they grow up.
We will always love her and have her at our hearts.
